Carolyn Hampton has been a private piano teacher since 2010. Her teaching experience actually spans over 25+ years: as a high school student, summers during college, and part-time over the years while working as a professional system engineer and project manager in the automotive industry. She enjoys teaching school ages 7-18. Teaching curriculum includes various music styles (classical, contemporary, jazz, Christian and pop.) Theory education & performance techniques are incorporated as well as age appropriate fun activities, for the younger ages. Creativity in composing or arranging music is also part of the curriculum. Recitals are conducted twice @ year (spring and fall, sometimes Christmas) and students are encouraged to participate - it allows them to demonstrate what they have been learning. Carolyn engages her students in Regional and National contests. Her students have been awarded AAA ratings and placement level trophies (1st, 2nd, 3rd). As a musician and performer, Carolyn plays for several church services, weddings, events and life celebrations. She is also a trained organist on cathedral pipe organs with experience on various pipe organs and electronic organs. The greatest joy for Carolyn is to watch her students grow, and even continue in piano after high school years.
